BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
at The Engine Room in London
We have been appointed by a leading Integrated and Digital communications agency in their search for an addition to their Management team. This highly regarded agency has an outstanding reputation for Integrated, Digital and a full 360 offering. Working with an established plethora of clients across Automotive, Retail, Telecoms, Beverage, Financial, FMCG and related sectors, this agency is well positioned to achieve continued growth and advancement. This agency is consistently positioned at the top of the industry league tables for creativity and strategy. The role will be focused on both maintaining and leveraging this position.
The role of the Digital Business Development Manager is to generate new business with a particular emphasis on the digital offering. They offer full service digital, from comms to website build, mobile to e-commerce. The overall purpose of the role is to win significant new business. Digital is growing exponentially and the agency is keen to persue that growth.
As the Business Development Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of digital new business generation – from developing a strategic marketing plan for lead generation activity (short term and long term), cold calling, PR, generating sales collateral, updating the website, keeping case studies up to date, liaising with account handlers to generate case studies/news stories, managing the new business contact database, networking with intermediaries/industry influencers etc. Although you will be responsible for digital, you should also have a clear understanding of the integrated offering.
You will also be involved in all aspects of the pitch response processes (brainstorming, information gathering, RFI responses). It is likely you will also be involved with chemistry meetings and pitches. The role will involve the management of a small BD team, you will handle the new business budget and you will also manage the external PR agency.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required for the Role
4+ years agency side client services experience in a similar development capacity
(Type of experience needed is digital; web build, lead generation, e-commerce and technology solutions, content development, usability and interface design)
A sales driven, entrepreneurial, personality who
? demonstrates enormous tenacity
? is an excellent presenter
? has an exceptional phone manner
? has senior gravitas
? has an opinion on marketing/brand issues
? demonstrates a detailed understanding of the agency landscape
? understands digital and has an opinion on the future of the industry and is genuinely passionate about it
? is able to articulate thought provoking arguments and opinions in relation to topical issues.
? has a proven track record of previous digital media sales success
? is able to demonstrate and implement proven strategy
