THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an exciting opportunity for a copywriter with a science background to join the dynamic creative department of this award-winning healthcare agency.
BACKGROUND
The client is one of the UK's Top 50 Advertising Agencies (Campaign November 2007) and a leading agency in the healthcare sector. Founded in 1991, the agency has an annual turnover of £8 million and one of the most impressive client lists in the sector. Current clients include Abbott, AstraZeneca, Bayer Schering, Genzyme and Kendle.
The Patient Access and Retention Business Unit creates global communication programmes to assist many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies in their clinical research activities.
The agency is recognised as one of the leading agencies in this specialised field and has achieved international recognition for its creative work.
THE POSITION
We are looking for a copywriter, ideally but not necessarily, with previous experience in healthcare communications.
The position will involve working as part of an in-house creative team tackling challenging creative briefs and producing a wide range of communications materials across a variety of media channels, including radio and TV commercials. Materials are produced for both healthcare professionals and patients throughout the world but predominantly in Europe, Asia, South America and the USA.
Candidates should be strong conceptual thinkers who can vary their writing style to the target audience. From an investigators’ briefing pack for an oncology study, to an animated DVD for children involved in a paediatric asthma study, the work is fast-paced and hugely varied.
QUALIFICATIONS
A science degree or previous experience in healthcare is preferred although this is not essential providing that the successful candidate is able to interpret clinical trial protocols for a wide variety of conditions and disease areas.
